"I worked off of an installation photo I had seen in the Turbo Diesel Register magazine, but with my own twist for simplicity. I started with a 12" C-channel piece of steel and cut it the width of my RH battery. I notched out the channel for the battery hold down, and cut the outer lip off, so the battery would sit directly on the new bypass bracket. I shimmed the existing battery tray and placed the bracket, then trimmed the bracket to fit with the least intrusion towards anything around it. Then I welded a flat piece to the notched lip for the vertical plate to attach the bypass. After marking, test fitting, and painting, the filters were mounted. The hoses were pretty straightforward—just looped down and back up to the bypass filter mount, and I elbowed down off of the kit to avoid the air filter. I filed any metal touching softer material, and protected the hoses from potential chaffing areas by jacketing them with some larger heater hose. Simple, effective, serviceable, and removeable if I should sell the truck later. The BE-100 filter is used with this kit.
