PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL
High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil is specifically formulated to provide
tough lubricating protection in the most demanding operations. It is recommended
for use is motorcycles, pickup trucks, recreational vehicles and other high-stress
vehicles powered by gasoline or diesel engines. AMSOIL SAE 20W-50 High Performance
Synthetic Motor Oil may be used in all motorcycle engines, including those with
a wet clutch system, requiring an API CD, SG-CG or SH-CD oil.
WEAR
PROTECTION
The AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic
20W-50 Motor Oil anti-wear additive package contains high levels of zinc and phosphorous
for superior protection of cam lobes and other high-pressure parts. In fact,
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil contains more zinc and phosphorous
than most popular motorcycle manufacturer motor oils. Its superior anti-wear
package offers superior wear protection. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic
20W-50 Motor Oil leaves a wear scar up to 40 percent smaller than the scars left
by other popular brands in the ASTM D4172 Four-Ball Wear Test.
Some
motorcycle transmissions and engines share an oil sump, so the engine oil also
provides wear protection to the transmission gears. AMSOIL High Performance
Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil offers superior wear protection to transmission gears,
which are often subjected to high surface pressure and rotation speed. It
also promotes proper wet clutch performance.
FRICTION
MODIFIER FREE
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50
Motor Oil contains no friction modifiers. The friction modifier free formulation
of AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil ensures dependable starting,
smooth running, good fuel efficiency, desirable stall speeds and clutch compatibility.
DIESEL
FORMULATED
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50
Motor Oil contains a robust dispersant/detergent additive package, making it ideal
for use in high-stress diesel engines. Its 12+ TBN ensures lasting protection
against acid and soot in high-stress diesel applications. In fact, its dispersant/detergent
additive package is a proven extended drain lubricant.
TEMPERATURE
AND PERFORMANCE
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil
offers the superior protection and lubrication at high and low temperatures found
only in top-quality synthetic oils. Its outstanding low temperature fluidity
ensures easy cranking, dependable starting and fast post-startup protection.
Its superior high-temperature protection ensures the formation of a clean, protective
film of oil between working parts during high-temperature, high-stress operations.
High-temperature
operations often lead to the thermal degradation and oxidation of conventional
oils, which leads to the formation of deposits, sludge and varnish. AMSOIL
High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor Oil withstands thermal degradation and
oxidation at higher temperatures than conventional oils do, ensuring clean, dependable
performance in high-stress, high temperature operations.
SERVICE
LIFE
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 20W-50 Motor
Oil (ARO) is formulated for extended drain intervals. Length of service
depends on application.
PERSONAL
VEHICLES WITH NON-TURBOCHARGED GASOLINE ENGINES
Change
ARO at three times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or one
year, whichever comes first.
VEHICLES
WITH TURBOCHARGED GASOLINE ENGINES
Change ARO at
two times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or six months,
whichever comes first.
RACING
ENGINES
Change ARO at intervals specified by used
oil analysis.
VEHICLES
WITH LIGHT-DUTY AND NON-TURBOCHARGED DIESEL ENGINES
Change
ARO at two or more times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval
if the findings of used oil analysis support those drain intervals or six months,
whichever comes first.
HEAVY
DUTY AND TURBOCHARGED DIESEL ENGINES
Change ARO at
two or more times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval if the
findings of used oil analysis support those drain intervals or six months, whichever
comes first.
MOTORCYCLES,
ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES, ETC.
Change ARO at two times
the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or six months, whichever
comes first.
MARINE
CRAFT AND OCCASIONALLY USED GASOLINE ENGINES
Change
ARO at three times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or six
months, whichever comes first.
FLEET
VEHICLES AND INDUSTRIAL GASOLINE ENGINES
Change ARO
at two times the engine manufacturer's recommended drain interval or six months,
whichever comes first.
If a vehicle is
equipped with an AMSOIL Oil Filter, the filter should be changed at 12,500-mile
or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in gasoline engines and 7,000-mile
or six-month intervals (whichever comes first) in diesel engines. Non-AMSOIL
oil filters should be changed at the engine manufacturer's recommended filter
change interval.
